So Much To Catch Up On

Hello there! How long has it been? Time is running together and not making much sense
lately, but we are all still hanging on! I thank you all so much for your prayers and
messages of concern.

Ok, let's recap...

- Wednesday, March 20 -

My dad fell about 6 feet from a ladder while trimming a camellia tree in his yard. When
he landed, he broke his ankle in two places, and his leg in two places.

Next was an ambulance ride to his local hospital, and then another to UAB hospital
here in Birmingham. He was hospitalized for 12 days and in those 12 days, had 4
surgeries on his right leg.

- Sunday, March 31st -

While Dad was in the hospital, Hubby and I made a day trip to Auburn to see our birthday girl!

We can not believe our baby girl is 20 years old!

Thanks to Trader Joe's, our girl was able to enjoy some gluten free birthday cupcakes!

We absolutely loved being able to spend the day celebrating our beautiful daughter!

- Monday, April 1st -

Back in Birmingham...

On Monday morning, I woke up and started cleaning the house because I thought Dad would
go to a rehab hospital for 7 - 10 days. I was expecting Mom to sleep at our house while Dad
was gaining strength and rehabbing the leg injury. (He can not put any weight on his leg for
12 weeks!)

One minute I am cleaning my house, and then the next minute, I am getting the call that he
will be discharged to go home (Selma, a 2 hour drive from UAB) rather than to rehab.
Wait, what?!?

Frantic packing begins and then I head over to the hospital to pick up Mom and Dad to drive
them home. Hubby heads to Selma to start building a wheelchair ramp so we can get Dad
into the house without hurting his leg. Neighbors in Selma begin picking up the needed
supplies such as a walker, a wheelchair, etc.

My week this week has included getting Mom and Dad settled at home, helping as I could,
getting groceries for them, running errands etc.

- Wednesday, April 3 -

This baby boy turned 3 on Wednesday!  So far we haven't been able to celebrate his
birthday, but we will plan to celebrate soon!

- Thursday, April 4 -

On Thursday, Miss S scared all of us half to death! She had what we believe to be a
POTS flare up and blacked out for a few seconds while driving and hit a tree. Thankfully,
she was on a little side road just coming out from getting a Slushie from Sonic and was
not going fast. Her air bags deployed, and that bruised her up and made her head hit the
headrest of her carseat causing a headache, but other than bumps and bruised and a bit of
soreness she is ok. My mama heart was breaking in half because I wanted to be there to hold
my sweet girl while she was scared and upset.

Her car had to be towed away because cars can not legally be driven once the air bags
deploy. The dashboard is messed up where the air bag exploded out, the windshield is
broken, and the front bumper is banged up, but thank the good Lord our girl is ok.

Y'all, it has been a stressful 3 and 1/2 weeks!

I am not sure how much blogging and YouTubing I will get done during the next
few months, but I will certainly pop in as often as I can. I am hoping to be able to
find a balance of being in Selma several days and then at home for a few days. We
will see how we can make it all work.

I love you all for praying and messaging and thinking about us. We are finding
blessings where we can, and leaning on each other for strength.

I hope things are going well for all of you and I hope to talk to you all again soon!
