We Made Our Own!

Hubby and I have been talking about making our own sushi at home for
the longest time. We were always hesitant because it seemed like it would
probably be quite a complicated process.

Thankfully, all of the apprehension is now gone!

Hubby's boss went deep sea fishing in Orange Beach over the weekend and
caught several large tuna. He brought some back for us and we immediately
knew it was time to figure out the whole sushi-making thing.

We read this article and watched this video on YouTube.

Hubby then headed out to Publix to buy our supplies.

The sushi rice took a while to get just right. It had to soak in water for 30 minutes,
and then needed to cook for 20.

We also needed a small amount of rice vinegar to get the right flavor for the rice.

We almost have tuna avocado rolls...

Rolled and ready to slice...

Ready to eat! The are not perfect, but they were absolutely delicious!

The rice was quite sticky and messy to work with, but overall, the process was not as
complicated as we thought it would be. It was time consuming, but we were thrilled
with how our sushi turned out. It was equally as good as the tuna avocado rolls we
get at our favorite sushi restaurant. Plus I got to enjoy it in my pj's! Definitely a win
for me! :)

Have you ever made your own sushi at home?

Do you prefer to eat out, or have dinner at home?

Have a fabulous day, and I'll see you Friday!
