Workout Wednesday + A Free Trial

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Y'all! Tomorrow will be February 1st!

Where did January go? What happened to all the goals and resolutions that I
made just 1 month ago?

Does anyone else feel like, they set goals, and then blinked, and here we are
rapidly approaching February?

I am thinking that I set too many and have myself going in too many directions
all at the same time.

I'm trying to improve my health, my home, and also this blog and my YouTube
channel. I've got to get better organized if I am going to be successful with
all those things.

I am going to declare January a free trial month!

I'm going back to the drawing board just a bit to look for ways to better achieve my
goals for February.

Also, you know what day it is...

Yes friends! It is Workout Wednesday, so I have another great workout for you today.

I went through the workout one time and was not sore, so I think you will be fine
to go through each exercise two times. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear how
it worked for you.

In case you missed it, I posted a Master Bathroom Declutter video on Monday
evening. You see it here too!

I hope you all have a fantastic day today, and I will see you back here on Friday!

Rainy Weekend Recap

Despite Saturday being a rainy day, it was a fun and happy day. Hubby stayed
home and spent the day with me! Normally he is up and out in a tree stand or
duck blind on Saturday mornings, but this weekend he decided to stay home
and spend some quality time with me.

I stayed warm and snuggly in the bed until the last possible moment, so the no
makeup look was my chosen look of the day, ha ha. Getting out from under the
warm covers of a bed filled with sweet fur babies is not easy to do, especially
on a rainy Saturday morning.

Finally I was out of bed and ready to go in under 20 minutes! Yay me!

We started the day off by heading to Waffle House for breakfast. We had a
really great breakfast and were fueled for the day.

Our next stop was Lowe's. While Hubby was looking for what he needed, I spotted
some LED Daylight light bulbs. I am hoping they will help brighten up my workout
space and improve the quality of our Workout Wednesday videos. The lights are
definitely bright, so I am interested to see if we can notice a difference when I
film this week.

After Lowe's we headed to Walmart for a new printer. The print head on ours went
kaput, so this time we opted for a Kodak printer rather than the HP printer. Our last
two printers have been HP, and we just don't feel that they lasted as long as they
should have for the small amount of use that they get from our home use.

Later Saturday afternoon, I finished editing and uploaded my Valentine Decor
Tour. If you haven't seen it, you can watch it here.

Also, as of yesterday, we are up to Season 6, episode 6 of Blue Bloods on Netflix.

I think those were about all the highlights of our weekend.

Today, before I sign off, I want to wish my
wonderful Daddy a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I hope you have a great day and many, many
more happy birthdays!!!

I will see all of you again on Wednesday!

Friday Favorites

Hello hello sweet friends and family!

Is anyone else so super duper happy that today is Friday?

I am thrilled to have a couple of days at home! I wish Miss S was coming home
this weekend, but no such luck. She is busy living and loving the college life.

But, luckily for me, she and two of her precious sorority sisters did go out and
about, and took some really adorable pictures last Saturday. These pictures of
my girl are without a doubt my favorite thing from the week!

Ahh, to be young and creative! Take a look...

Gosh I love and miss my girl! She is, and always will be, on my list of most
favorite things!

A new weekly vlog is on my YouTube channel too. Making videos is another
favorite thing of mine.

If things go as planned, my Valentine Home Decor Tour video will be live on my
YouTube channel on Saturday!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and I will see you back here in blogland
on Monday!

Hey guys!

Thanks for coming by today to see this week's workout. This workout is for
your lower body. All you will need is your own body weight!

(You can even do this one in your pajamas if you want. I'll never tell!)

Join me and lets work those legs, glutes, and thighs!

Tomorrow is going to be another busy one for me, but I hope to see you back
here on Friday!

Motivating and Beautiful!

Tell the truth. When you read the title to this post, you thought I was describing
myself didn't you?! Ha, if only! :)

But seriously...

The start of a new year is often accompanied by excitement, nostalgia and resolutions
for the upcoming 365 days. Whether you’ve decided to head to the gym more often,
eat healthier or try something new, it can be daunting to keep up with your goals
for the new year especially if your list is a mile long.

Which brings me to exactly where I am today. Maybe I had too many good intentions
for my goals for this year, maybe I just need to reevaluate and reorganize my
plan of action. Either way, I find myself at almost the end of January and my
actions toward achieving my goals for the new year have been all over the
place.

If you are anything like me, you may need to spend a few minutes revisiting the goals,
resolutions and intentions that you set for this year.

To help inspire us to stick to our 2018 resolutions, ProFlowers put together a collection
of motivational quotes for the New Year. These quotes are not only inspirational and
just what I need to get my mind and plans back on track,  they are beautiful too. I just
may have to incorporate a few into my decor here and there for an extra little
daily dose of motivation. Here are two of my favorites...

This quote applies in SO MANY areas of life that I would be here all day if I tried to tell
you all the things it brings to mind! Seriously! Whether your goal is to exercise more,
learn to cook healthy recipes, or learn to take beautiful photographs, this quote
applies!

And if one of your goals was to lead a calmer, happier, more intentional life, then this
one is perfect for you.

I need to repeat this one to myself at least 30 times a day!

I am a big reactor, so this one is much needed by me.

Take a minute to click over to Pro Flowers site and see what quote speaks to you.
You will find 56 of them, so I am sure you will find the perfect quote to get you
excited and back on track with you goals for 2018.

I'd love to hear which quotes speak to and inspire you!

Wishing you a happy, productive, and inspired day!

Beware Of Extended Child's Pose!

Happy Monday to you!

I am moving at a little slower pace this morning, but I am here!

I somehow pulled something in my neck while doing extended child's pose
and stretching yesterday and I am feeling it this morning.

Gosh the body is a strange and complex thing. How did this...

via

turn into this?

via

I'm not really sure, but at any rate, I am moving a little more slowly and cautiously
today than was expected. I've got to be at the gym soon to work with two clients, so
I suppose today's post will need to be a super quick one.

In case you missed it, I did post two videos over the weekend. Thankfully they were
posted before the neck pain began so I look like my normal self in these!

Thank you for stopping by today!

I need to get myself together before y'all start a poll called,
"What will she hurt next?"

I have to joke about it so I won't cry, lol!

Y'all take care and beware of the extended child's pose!

Happy Friday!

We don't have a whole lot going on around here this weekend. Our snow is
gone, and Miss S isn't coming home this weekend, so it will just be me,
Hubby, and the furbabies.

I plan to be productive and get in a workout, along with some cleaning, and
pulling out my Valentine decor, but I make no promises at this point, ha!

I do have a new weekly vlog ready for you over on YouTube. I will also share it
here.

If you missed any of my videos from the week, I will also share them here in case
you need to get caught up!

Have an awesome weekend!

Mascots and Mantels

Not only did we have snow in the Birmingham area on Tuesday and Wednesday,
Miss S got snow on The Plains

Our snow started around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Miss S waited and waited and
finally gave up hope of seeing any snow. Finally the snow started falling in
Auburn around 10:30 Tuesday evening. She was overjoyed!

On Wednesday morning, with the entire campus shut down, the students were
out in droves to have some fun in the snow. The snow play became even more
exciting when the Auburn mascot, Aubie joined the fun!

And you all know my girl. If you don't take pictures with your friends, were you really
even there?

Miss S and her roomie...

Miss S and two of her Alpha Gam sisters...

If you are wondering which girl is Miss S, well she would be the one without
anything covering her head.

Shaking my head... what am I going to do with her?

She owns a toboggan hat, she owns a head wrap to cover her ears, and the jacket she
is wearing has a hood on it. I'm going to make myself feel a little better and say that
she was wearing the hood and only took it off for a second to take these pictures.
Thinking that makes me feel a little less like a failure as a parent, anyway.

Also, with Valentines Day less than a month away, I figured it was time to finally show
you a little of my Winter decor.

Our winter mantel...

And the shelf in the foyer dressed for winter...

I think it's about time to put the little "Let it snow" wreath away, ha ha!

I will be decorating for Valentines Day soon, and hopefully I will be able to capture
that both on camera and on video. Stay tuned!

Currently... Plus A Workout Wednesday!

Snow began at our house around 3:30 yesterday afternoon...

Temperatures dropped quickly and we are facing a sheet of ice on our walkways
and roads this morning. The high temperature today is only 31, so I'm not sure how
much the icy conditions will improve today.

This is our current temperature...

My parents got even more snow that we did at their house...

Miss S is pretty excited that classes are cancelled at Auburn today and that they
got a good bit of snow too. I haven't seen pictures of Auburn yet, but she is very
happy.

A Workout Wednesday is uploaded and ready for you! Y'all! Try this one for sure.
I had fun creating it, and it kicked my booty! I'm still tired from filming it, ha ha.

Also, check our my first ever Clean With Me video...

I'm loving making these videos so please remember to let me know what other
videos you would like to see.

I'll see you tomorrow!

Two Things Tuesday

Happy Tuesday y'all!

First of all, we are on the lookout for snow and ice in our area today.

I am so very thankful that I am not scheduled to work today so I can wait this
winter storm out from the warmth and comfort of my own home.

All schools in our area are closed today, as are many businesses. Hopefully
all of the precautions that were taken will help prevent another dramatic and
terrifying event like the one we had in 2014 from occuring. Those memories
are plenty fresh and I hope to never go through anything like it again!

Secondly, it just occurred to me that we are already 16 days in to January and I
haven't even shown you pictures of my winter mantel. I have got to get on that
because in a few days it will be time to decorate for Valentines Day. Goodness,
January is off to a mighty brisk pace!

(It is dark and dreary outside today which would make for terrible, blurry, dark pictures,
so I will get those winter decor pictures done as soon as we have sunshine again!)

While I am home today, I am working on three new videos for my YouTube
channel. I'm filming a Weekly Vlog, and editing my first ever "Clean With Me"
video. I also need to film and edit a Workout Wednesday video, so be on the
lookout for all of these coming very soon!

Thanks for reading today and stay warm!

How's the weather looking where you are today?

Do you have any video requests?

Our Weekend in a Vlog!

Happy Monday everyone!

Today, rather than having you read all about our weekend, you can simply
click here and watch for yourself!

I'm having so much fun capturing our life through vlogging, and I hope you are
enjoying watching too.

Spend some time shopping in Kirklands Home Store with me, and go on a road
trip to meet up with my most favorite person for lunch!

Take a look at my weekend...

Wishing you a week filled with all your favorite things!

See you tomorrow!

I'm linking up here and here today.

Friday Favorites {Short & Sweet}

Happy Friday friends!

It's that time again. Time for...

I have 3 favorite things to share with you today!

I have finally found a nail polish that is worth buying!

The others are beautiful in the bottle, and beautiful on your nails (for about 2 days),
but this Essie Gel polish is my all time favorite now.

I painted my nails on Saturday, and they still look great today. I have two teeny tiny chips
but no one would ever even notice. The polish claims that it can last up to 14 days, but
I am perfectly happy with painting my nails once a week and having them look nearly
perfect for 7 straight days. I want to add more of these to my nail polish collection.

Getting to FaceTime my girl is absolutely on my list of favorites this week.

If I can't have her here with us at home, then at least I can see her face and talk
to her each day. It helps my heart feel a little less sad about missing her.

Her storytimes are my favorite!

Another of my favorite things is creating weekly vlogs for my YouTube channel.

It is such a fun way to document our life. The editing process can be time consuming
and stressful at times, but I think the vlogs and videos that are created are worth
the effort.

Click here to watch, or simply click on the video below.

Those are my favorites for the week!

What are you loving this week?

Have you tried the Essie Gel polish yet?

Have an extra awesome weekend and I'll see you next week!

Starting Our Own Community

Today is a rainy, dreary, and humid day. It's almost like the weight of the air is weighing
me down with it today. I am feeling so tired.

For the past couple of days, I have had work and errands and plenty to do around the
house, but today I am going to slow down and let myself rest a little. I am listening
to my body today and it is saying today sounds like a good day for a bit of light
cycling on my spin bike, and then a nice, healing yoga practice.

This is the video I will be trying today...

I would like to go through each of the videos in this series and see how I like it. I know
myself well enough to know that at this time I will not be doing 30 straight days of yoga,
but I do plan to do 2 - 3 of the videos in this series each week until all 30 days are complete.
I have tried various yoga videos on YouTube in the past and Adriene is by far my
favorite. Her voice and her style make you feel so good about your practice. I actually
enjoy spending time with her.

How about we make adding more yoga to our week our 1st challenge to complete
together? Anyone else feel like their body and mind need a little extra love and
healing right now?

I will do my best to post the videos here for you as we go through the 30 Days of Yoga
with Adriene so you won't have to search all of YouTube to find the video.

My plan is to try to practice these yoga videos on Tuesday and Thursday, and possibly
one over the weekend. Let's give this a try and see how it goes. Feel free to comment
and let me know if you are going to practice with me, what you think about the videos,
and if you were able to get in 2 or 3 videos each week. If you are highly motivated
and manage to complete a video every single day, then let me know that too, so I can
draw encouragement and motivation from you.

I totally believe life needs way more encouragement, motivation, kindness, and
validation to be who we really are. Let's encourage each other so much that we
won't even hear the negativity that may be going on in the world around us.
How's that for a challenge?!

Let's fill our little community with happiness and joy!

Here is Day 2 and Day 3 of the 30 Day series...

Comment here, or over on our facebook page so we can stay connected and encouraged!

I will see you tomorrow!

How We Wednesday...Plans For 2018

A new year means new goals, new resolutions, and new link ups. Today I am joining
Erika and Shay for "How We Wednesday!"

Today's topic of discussion is goals and resolutions.

Every year I set goals and make resolutions for the new year. 9.9 times out of 10,
those goals and resolutions are nearly forgotten even before the end of January
rolls around.

This year, I am taking a different approach!

Let's take a look...

This year before any goals or resolutions are made, I am taking a look at my
priorities. My priorities have always been family and home, no question. This
year however, I want to add a focus on making a few more things a priority as
well.

My priorities for 2018 will be:

Faith

Family

Home

Health

Hobbies

Self-Care

As I take a closer look at these, I realize they kind of all work together. Let me explain.
By growing my faith, it will effect other areas of my life.... home, family, health, etc.
By focusing on improving my health, it will also effect my home, family, hobbies, etc.
When I think about how each priority affects the others, I can see the importance of not
dropping the ball on any one of them.

Now that I have my priorities established, I can focus on goals for each one.

-Faith -

pray more
worship more

-Family-

be fully present when we are all together
 take more family pictures
find & make yummy gluten free recipes for Miss S

-Home-

declutter
develop a better cleaning routine
meal plan

-Health-

move everyday
strength train 3 times a week
yoga 2 times a week
try a new healthy recipe every week
stop stressing over the small stuff
practice gratitude daily

-Hobbies-

grow blog and YouTube channel
improve blog and YouTube channel (quality and content)

-Self-Care-

focus more on taking care of me
consistently USE the beauty products I buy
exercise, yoga, prayer, gratitude, healthier eating

I also want to focus on setting goals for each month. Resolutions are not a "one
and done" kind of thing.

I would love to create a community of like-minded friends to work on our goals
together. My thought was to ask you to comment here, or either over on A Kristian
Lifestyle facebook page about your goals and plans for 2018. I plan to be more active
on this page this year, so please drop by and give the page a "like."

If you would like to create an online community so we can complete
goals and challenges together, please comment below, or comment on A K L
facebook page and tell me some of your goals/priorities for this year.

I will read through all of them, and will then create challenges that we can work
on together all year long. I think this would be so much fun! Be sure to comment
so I will know what type of challenges you are interested in seeing here on the blog.
(Or if you would prefer to see the challenges vlog style over on my YouTube channel,
let me know that as well.)

Also, for those of you who regularly follow my "Workout Wednesday"
videos, I have a new one for you today.

This video was designed to help anyone who has set a goal for going to the gym
this year. If you are overwhelmed, and wonder what to do and how to begin, I
hope you will find the video helpful!

Have a super awesome day and remember to let me know your goals too so we can
work together this year!

My Review Of The Hamilton Beach Flex Brew

Y'all know how much I love a good cup of coffee. It's basically what lures me out of
my comfy, snuggly bed each morning!

Prior to Miss S moving away to college last fall, we had a regular coffee pot and also a
Keurig coffee maker. It kind of bothered me having two coffee makers on my counter
top, but on most mornings, I prefer to use a regular size coffee maker because I
typically drink two cups of coffee each morning. (I feel like it's more frugal to make
a small carafe of coffee, rather than using two K-cups, also when Miss S went to
college, our Keurig went with her.)

As the weather has turned quite cool lately, I have found myself wanting a K-cup
coffee maker again so I can easily make a single cup of coffee mid-afternoon.

I didn't want to have the issue of two coffee makers again. Since I had a little
Christmas cash on hand, I headed over to Walmart to see what my coffee making
options were.

I liked the looks of the Hamilton Beach Flex Brew coffee maker.

So far I have been extremely happy with my purchase. I love having the option for making
either a carafe of coffee or a single cup using a K-cup. This machine also has a filter so I
can use any ground coffee to make a single cup. This filter also seems like it will be
easier to clean than the one that I had with the Keurig.

This machine was also extremely easy to program. I never did figure out how to set my
old coffee maker to have coffee ready for me when I woke up. With the Hamilton Beach
Flex Brew, I have the luxury of waking up to a fresh pot of coffee each morning.

The only difference we have noticed is with the speed of brewing a single cup.
The Keurig kept water hot at all times, so brewing was instant. With the Hamilton
Beach Flex Brew, you have to add water to the single cup side when you are ready
to use it, so it does take a couple of minutes to let the water heat up before brewing.

What type of coffee maker do you use?

Are you a K-cup or full carafe fan?

(I purchased this coffee maker on my own. Also, all opinions are my own.)

Weekends, Reality, and Glitter

Hello friends and family! I hope this Monday finds you all doing well.

It's rainy and gloomy here today so I could use a little positivity this morning.
Anyone else need a little positive boost for your day? Y'all know how I feel about
some glitter and sparkle, so this one certainly made me smile...

I guess we must have had a pretty low key weekend because as I sit in front of the
computer screen trying to tell you all about it, I am not finding a whole lot to tell.

On Friday night, we watched 3 or 4 episodes of Blue Bloods on Netflix. I know that
it a BIG shock for all of you if you have watched my recent vlogs on YouTube.
We are kind of obsessed and wrapped up with the entire Reagan family! We are on
Season 5 right now.

On Saturday morning, the reality of what is happening tomorrow started to sink in.
I had been avoiding and hiding from the truth for weeks, but it finally hit me and hurt
my heart. Miss S goes back to Auburn tomorrow. I am not at all happy about it. My
heart if extremely heavy and sad. Life is just not the same when my girl is two hours
away. I miss seeing her everyday so much!

As one of the errands we need to run today, we will be heading to Target to get her
fresh notebooks for the new semester. I am going to soak up all I can before the
inevitable rolls around tomorrow.

Oh, I almost forgot! My little cutie pie, Roo had a birthday yesterday! Roo is now
ONE! I am still working on getting a great picture of him to post for his birthday,
so stay tuned!

See you tomorrow!
