Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y'all!

Why am I so over the moon excited about today being Friday?

Because tomorrow we get to go to Auburn to see our girl!

We have tickets to the Auburn vs. Mississippi State game and we are going
early to spend time with our favorite Auburn student. Any time we get to spend
with our girl is, and will always be, one of my very favorite things!

Another one of my favorites is this little cutie...

He is always close by with unlimited kissses and snuggles for his Mommy!

More favorites this week include these Pecan Pralines.

A few weeks ago, I said these were my favorite...

but after trying both, the Pecan Pralines win the title of absolute favorite!
If you have a Publix near you, these pecans are a MUST TRY! So good!

In my vlog yesterday, I told you about these little cookies from Trader Joe's.

Y'all! They are little bites of pumpkin spice heaven. You know I am a huge
homebody, but I will definitely be venturing out of my little cocoon, for
another box. (or maybe two! ha!)

Like I said, I am a big homebody, and y'all know I don't go too many places
that I don't have to go. But seriously, I get compliments on this nail polish
every time I leave the house.

I bought mine at Sally Beauty Supply, but any store that carries the brand China
Glaze should have it. I think it's the perfect polish for fall. It's a beautiful
burgundy shade without being super dark. It's more of a wine burgundy than
a super vampy dark burgundy. It's really quite pretty on.

And one last favorite for the week...

My fall decor!

Here is a little sneak peek of what is to come in a full Fall Decor tour next
week. I love having the house decorated for fall. The warm colors and
textures are so comforting and cozy.

Also, in case you missed Tuesday's vlog, I took you with me as I shopped in
Target and Kirklands for fall goodies. I also share all of my favorite fall
scented candles. Don't miss it!

Have an awesome weekend, and I will see you next week with a weekend
at Auburn recap and a home tour of our fall decor.

Another Vlog, Oh My!

Hello and happy Thursday to you all!

Wednesday was a fun day for me because my parents were in town
and we got to have lunch together and do a little shopping.

In honor of such a happy day, I made a little "Day in the Life"
vlog for you.

It was a fun day, and we tried out a new to us restaurant called The Cowfish.

Mom and Dad both had salads, and I ordered their Bento Box.

The food was good, but I'm not sure I am completely sold on the hamburger slider
and sushi plate. I believe I will try something different if I go again. I kind of
feel like this is a "go just to see what it's all about" kind of restaurant. I feel like
now that I have been, I probably won't be in a rush to go back.

After lunch, we did a little shopping. I found some cute and comfy shoes in
Belk. I tried them on, but wasn't 100% sure about them. I left them in the
store, and as soon as I got home, I regretted not buying them.

These are the ones I liked...

They are by the brand Vionic which is a brand that prides itself in making shoes
with really good arch support. Thanks to my plantar fasciitis, arch support
will need to be a key component of all my new shoes.

I got online to research more about my shoes that I left behind and found out
the shoes also come in grey.

Now, I am thinking I really like the grey color. I love the navy, but feel that
I might get more wear from the neutral grey color. Hmmmm. Decisions,
decisions. I'll let you know what I decide!

I hope you enjoy the vlog. Be sure to watch to the end so you can see our
sweet fur babies!

I'll see you tomorrow!

Do you have a Cowfish in your area?

If so, do you have a favorite meal that I should go back to try?

A Review - Maple Holistics

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm here today to let you know about a (new to me) organic and natural beauty
product company called Maple Holistics.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I have been interested
in finding more natural products to incorporate into our lives and have
dabbled with trying natural products here and there.

(I talked about that in this post, and also this post in case you missed them.)

I was super excited when Hayley from Maple Holistics reached out about
sending me their products to try.

Here is what Hubby and I tried:

Hubby tried the tea tree shampoo. He was already using a tea tree shampoo
by Organix so he was open to trying this new product.

The Maple Holistics tea tree shampoo is known for antiseptic properties, and has
healing and restorative capabilities. It is also cruelty-free, parabens-free,
GMO-free, and even gluten free.

Hubby does not have dandruff, dry scalp, or any other issue that you typically think
of when you think of using tea tree products, he simply likes the scent and invigorating
tingle from the shampoo. He says this shampoo is the perfect shampoo for helping
you wake up in those early morning showers before work.

Hubby rarely gets overly excited about products, but he is a huge fan of this shampoo
and we will definitely be ordering more.

The product that I tried was this Silk 18 conditioner.

I was excited to try this conditioner because with my thick, course, wavy, dry,
colored, frizz prone hair I am always searching for a miracle product.

This Silk 18 conditioner contains 18 Silk Amino Acids. It promises to strengthen
and leave hair silky smooth. The natural vanilla scent is also quite nice. It rinses
out of your hair quickly and does not feel heavy or greasy.

I did like the conditioner. It absolutely does make my hair feel silky soft.
However, I still had issues with frizz. I plan to try this product again when
the weather cools off a bit and the humidity in Alabama is not quite as bad.
(Y'all, humidity in Alabama has to set some sort of hair wrecking record!)

I absolutely will use all of this conditioner, it does make my hair feel incredibly
silky smooth. If you don't have super thick, course, frizzy hair, then I honestly
believe you will fall in love with this product.  If you do have crazy course,
frizzy hair, with it's price of only $11.95, you may want to go ahead and give
it a try. It may not work absolute miracles for you, but I don't think you will
be disappointed.

Also, both the tea tree shampoo and the Silk 18 conditioner are safe for colored

I encourage you to check out the entire Maple Holistics site. They have so many
products at affordable prices that I know you will find something you are
interested in.

To try their products for free, click here, but hurry, the offer expires 9/30/17.

Let me know if you find a product that you love so I can try it too!

Have an awesome day!

Favorites For Fall { Candles, Target, Kirklands }

Who's ready to talk about a few of my favorite things for fall?

Y'all know I love all things fall, so today I have a vlog for you where I talk
all about some of my favorite fall things.

Another fall candle that I really like (but forgot to order and mention this year) is the
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin candle. The fragrance notes for it are Crisp Red Apple,
Golden Nectar, and Warm Clove Spice.

available here

Check back tomorrow!

I will be back here tomorrow with a shampoo and conditioner review for two
products that I tried from Maple Holistics. I love that their products are all
natural, and the shampoo I'll be telling you about is cruelty-free,
parabens-free, GMO-free, and even gluten free!

Have an fall-tastic day!

Happiness Found

Welcome Fall and welcome back to A Kristian Lifestyle!

How was your weekend?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at our Saturday...

Do you see the happiness? Can you tell that for a few hours my heart was whole

On Saturday, I made the drive from my house to Auburn, and my parents drove
from their house to Auburn. We met up with our favorite girl for some shopping,
and lunch. Happiness was found! It was so good to be with her again. Actually
being with a person you love is so much better than a few sporadic phone calls
and texts.

I am seriously starting to wonder if I will ever get used to her being away from
home. People promise me that it gets easier, but I am not seeing any proof of
that as of yet. I miss being with her everyday SO MUCH.

Sunday was much less exciting, filled with the usual to do's. We did end our day
with some takeout from a local Chinese restaurant.

Also, I've got a new fall movie from Hallmark Channel recorded on my DVR, so I
do have that to look forward to watching one day this week.

Falling For Vermont was the first movie in Hallmark's fall movie event this year.
It was on Saturday night and my DVR was set. In case you missed it, the movie
will be on again Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 central time.

Did you watch?

Have a Happy Monday everyone!

A Night With Rick and Bubba

And just like that, another work week is wrapping up. And somehow the month
of September has almost gone too. The time is whizzing by at lightning speed.

Before the week completely gets away from us, I want to share with you what Hubby
and I did on Tuesday night.

My dad is super active in his local Quarterback Club. The Quarterback Club is more than
just a time of food, fellowship, and fun. This organization award scholarships to athletes
based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and financial need.
The club has been meeting and helping athletes in the community since 1941.

On this particular night, (which was also Ladies Night) Rick Burgess and Bubba Bussey
from the well-known Rick and Bubba Show were speaking. (You can see all the radio
stations that broadcast their show by clicking here.)

Rick and Bubba like to call themselves "The Sexiest Fat Men Alive" lol.

Here is Hubby with Rick and Bubba.

We enjoyed the evening so much because we got to see and have a delicious dinner
with my parents and watch Rick and Bubba in action. They are so much fun and
have the craziest stories to tell.

Today I am planning to head to a follow up doctor appointment for my
plantar fasciitis and hoping to soon be released from treatment. I also need
to pop in Walmart for a few things, and Miss S sent me a list of things she
needs from Ulta since I am going to see her tomorrow.

(All of this is dependent on my car cranking though. Last night when I tried
to leave the gym, my car battery was dead. Luckily the guy that works at
the front desk had jumper cables and could jump my car and get me headed
home. Adventure just seems to find me no matter where I am! I never have
to go out and look for it!)

I will see you back here on Monday!
Have an awesome weekend!

Hello again friends and family!

My laptop has chosen to not connect to the internet again today, and I have unfortuntely
spent my entire blogging time for today trying to change its mind.

I have had no luck so I am using Miss S's itty bitty teeny weeny 11 inch laptop to let
you know that today's planned blog post will not happen.

I have to be at the gym for clients soon and will have a full day today!

I will do my best to be back here with you tomorrow. I had originally planned on
bringing you a vlog tomorrow, but if the stars align and the technology gods smile
upon me, I will be here tomorrow with a blog and a vlog!

Here's to hoping for the best. Cross your fingers!

Tasty Tuesday

Operation pretend the weather feels like fall is officially underway.

I've been pulling out my fall decor and deciding what goes where. In addition to
decorating, I've been burning fall candles, and enjoying these muffins. I made them
last year too and now they have become the perfect addition to my fall routine.

This is one of the easiest recipes I've ever made. Not only is it easy, it's delicious too.

I want to share it with you today so you can enjoy pumpkin spice muffins too!

Last year I made them with golden raisins...

( Thankfully, I can also see a big improvement in picture quality since I took
this picture last year! )

This year, I switched up my add in ingredient from raisins to white chocolate chips.

1 box of Spice Cake mix

1 can of pumpkin

1 cup white chocolate chips

3/4 cup water

( I also added cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and nutmeg to my muffin batter. )

You can add in almost anything you like. Some ideas might be adding golden raisins,
regular raisins, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, walnuts, pecans,
or anything else you might enjoy. You can also leave them plain if you'd prefer.

Simply mix all ingredients together and bake in a 350 degree oven until cooked through.

The recipe makes 18 muffins.

You could also top these with cream cheese frosting to create pumpkin spice cupcakes

There you have it. A super easy, incredibly versatile recipe that can be enjoyed for
breakfast, for a snack, or even as a dessert. You choose!

You know my motto...

Happy Pumpkin Spice everything!

Highlights + Homecoming

When I left you on Friday, I was up bright and early to find out what was going on
with my car. Luckily it was a fairly minor glitch and was fixed without too much

When I left from getting my car taken car of, I had a little time before I needed
to be at my physical therapy appointment. I popped in TJMaxx to check out
their fall decor, candles, etc. Of course I made a visit to the pet isle to pick out
a couple of new toys for the boys. They are always so happy when Mommy
brings them a surprise!

I tried to get Hunter to slow down for a minute so I could snap a quick picture,
and I think he was afraid I might take his new treasure from him!

What a cutie!

Friday afternoon, Hubby got home from work and got to work in the yard. It had
been too wet all week from the three days of rain we got from Hurricane Irma
and he had not been able to cut the grass. When he was done with the yard work,
we decided to hop in the car for an impromptu dinner at Steak 'n Shake.

Hubby is giving me the "Do you have to take a picture of everything we do?" face.
Ha, yes Honey, actually I do.

On Saturday, when Hubby and Hunter were back from dove hunting (and not seeing
a single bird) we made a quick run to Walmart to pick up a few items.

With all the camo, can you even see Hubby? Ha!

Miss S had a much more exciting Saturday. It was Homecoming at Auburn.

Here is Miss S with her game day date...

She said she had fun except for when Auburn's mascot came near her. I got a text from
her that said...

"i am not ok"

My poor girl does not like mascots even a little bit. We have tried and tried
through the years to get her to warm up to them, but have had no luck!

Here is Aubie all dressed up with Auburn University's Homecoming Queen,
Miss Morgan Gaston.

Morgan is one of Miss S's Alpha Gam sisters. How exciting!

(That photo was taken from the Auburn Alpha Gam instagram page and is not my photo.)

One of Miss S's best buds from high school was in Auburn with his family for the
homecoming game. After the game, Miss S and her roomie, had dinner with him
along with his family.

Ahh, it makes my heart happy to see these three together again. I really miss seeing
Miss S and all of her friends.

Well, I believe those are the best highlights from our weekend.

I hope you all had a wonderful one, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Expect The Unexpected

"Expect the unexpected" is the motto for the hit reality t.v show Big Brother,
(even though the house guests have not particularly been unpredictable
this season) the quote is applicable to my life more times that I would like.
Yesterday, I made plans to spend my day off today cleaning my house and
then decorating for fall. I was really looking forward to it!
But then....
yesterday afternoon, the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) went
out on my car and my steering wheel, became crooked and looks like I am
about to make a left turn at all times. It’s pretty crazy looking and kind of
stresses me out. So, here I sit this morning, bright and early  getting my car
checked out. Fingers crossed it will be a quick and inexpensive
fix and I can get on with my day!

Oh well, at least it’s Friday!
I hope to have some fall decor ready to show you very soon!

Have you decorated your home for fall?
Does "expect the unexpected" apply to your life too sometimes?
What are you doing this weekend?

Miss S has homecoming this weekend in Auburn, so I know she will
have fun. I hope she will pass along some pictures for me to share with
all of you on Monday!

(I have no idea why this blog post is double spaced like it is. I am using
Miss S's old laptop, so I would not even know how to begin to fix this, ha!)

Like I said, expect the unexpected!

I am happy that it is Pumpkin Spice Everything season!

I had my first Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte of 2017 on Tuesday. I was leaving work,
and heading to have new tires put on my car, so a PSL was just what I needed to
cheer me on!

I am reading another great book by Emily Giffin. I am reading this one and loving
it so far.

I have been looking at old pictures and wishing these two besties were 15 again and
not living 2 hours away from me like they are now. I am so happy they are still
best friends, but I don't think I would complain about going back to this night
and celebrating Miss S on her 15th birthday once again.

What are you up to currently?

Are you reading anything good, or reminiscing about a particular time?

Have you had a Pumpkin Spice Latte yet?
