Today...

My mind is in too many places today. I can't get it settled enough to come up with
anything even remotely interesting to share.

I've got a full schedule with clients this morning, cleaning somewhere in between,
and then working a shift at the gym tonight.

Hubby and I will be leaving tomorrow morning around 6:30 a.m to head down
to Auburn for Bid Day. This has been a wild, emotional week with Sorority
Recruitment, but we are all praying that the stress and worry will be worth it
tomorrow when Miss S finds her Sorority home.

I hope to be here on Monday with some happy and exciting news!
I want to wish all of you a happy weekend!

Yay Me! I Was Productive!

Hello again everyone!

I actually was productive, between bouts of sadness and feeling sorry for
myself. I did actually get the College Move-In Week Video done.

I am putting zero pressure on myself this week and am allowing myself to
feel whatever feelings that come up. There will be plenty of time to tackle
my "to do" lists, but for this week, I am giving myself a free pass to handle
this time of transition anyway that feels right.

So far there has been lots of prayer, lots of pacing, and lots of White Collar
watching on Netflix, ha ha.

I appreciate you all for being patient with me as I find my new version of "normal."
Who knows, maybe driving to Auburn three times a week IS an acceptable form
of coping. Ha, I promise I am kidding!

Thanks for reading today and if you watch the video, I appreciate that as well.
I will see you on Thursday!

Riding a Roller Coaster

Life lately has been one giant roller coaster of emotions.

(source)

I know you all are tired of my whining, but having my one and only child move
away to Auburn last Friday has been a lot to deal with. Also, she is going through
Rush right now, and that is a pretty huge stressor for all of us as well. I go back and
forth between telling myself, "You are okay. You can do this" to the next second
blubbering and saying things like, "I want my baby, I want my baby."

Yep, this mama is having a hard time. Not that I am surprised at all, but it hurts just
the same.

I want to share a quick picture or two of Miss S in her dorm, then I will try to pull
myself together to work on a video. I videoed parts of our week, of the move, and
of the move in, so I will be back to share them as soon as I can get it all put together.

Miss S's new room...

I am so proud of my girl. She is smart, funny, beautiful, kind, and so
incredibly strong. I know God has a wonderful plan for her life, I'm just
a little sad that 18 years passed by so quickly. I just wasn't ready for our
precious lives to change so drastically. I wanted to hold on to her here forever.

This article explains a good deal of what is in my heart right now.

Have an awesome day and I will see you again soon!

A Mess From My Head To My Toes

I'm a little bit of a mess this morning because this will be Miss S's last
Friday at home before she moves away to college. I can not even
believe this dreaded time is only 6 days away. I can not even put into
words the level of emotions that I am feeling right now.

In the midst of all the "almost time to move Miss S" drama, I finally
worked up the courage to see a doctor about my suspected plantar fasciitis.
The problem has progressively gotten worse to the point that I have not
only altered my activity level, but my life. The pain is terrible, and more
frequent than it ever has been. Walking is unbearable, standing is unbearable,
and nothing I tried to do at home was making much difference.

So, after struggling with the pain for M O N T H S, I decided to suck it up
and go see a doctor.

They did x-rays and an ultasound of the fascia in my foot.

Thankfully nothing is torn, but the doctor was quite surprised with how
high the arches in my feet are. My arches are so high, that my heel tilts
backwards rather than sitting straight. He was not surprised at all that I was
having pain after looking at my x-rays.

Here is what my foot print looks like when I stand. The parts in red show the
pressure on my feet when I am standing. You can see that much of the outer
part of my foot does not touch the ground at all due to my high arches.

The doctor gave me a prescription for a strong anti-inflammatory, some exercises to do,
and I placed an order for custom orthotics to put in my shoes. He told me to never, every
walk around with bare feet, and to never wear flip flops. He said shoes without a good
arch support would never be my friend! Once my orthotics come in, I will need to go
get fitted for a good pair of Asics or New Balance shoes, and will have to find a pair
that my custom orthotics will fit in.

Here are the stretches that I will be doing as well.

I was so relieved that he didn't mention cortisone shots in my foot! So many people
has said that is what he would want to do and I was not happy with the thought
of that at all!

I happily took my prescription, my exercise sheet, and paid for my orthotics.
Anything to avoid that shot! I have read so many mixed reviews on it that I
knew I did not want to go that route.

Hopefully all of these prescribed treatments will kick in quickly so that I
can be of some help next week. I know it will be a busy/crazy/stressful/chaotic
time, and I certainly don't want to have terrible foot pain adding even more
drama to the list.

I won't be blogging next week because we have SO MUCH to do in the
next 6 days to get ready for Move-In Day.

We will be leaving home about 5:45 a.m next Friday morning to head to
Auburn. Miss S's move in time begins at 8:00 a.m and her roommates time
begins at 8:30. I would so greatly appreciate thoughts, prayers and well wishes
as we prepare to embark on this next chapter of our lives.

Miss S and her roomie are SO excited and ready for the big move!

I will miss you all next week, but I feel that my main focus and priority
needs to be with Miss S and with our family. I will take lots and lots
of pictures and will be back on Monday, August 14 to catch you up on
how everything went.

Thank you for following our journey. As sweet and faithful readers, you know I
have been dreading this move for over a year! You probably remember when
I thought her graduating from high school was going to be more than I could
handle....

I will try to post a few times on Facebook if I can get myself together
enough to do so!

And don't forget....

Lots of good stuff coming up this weekend on Hallmark Channel!

Love at the Shore comes on Saturday night, and Chesapeake Shores is back on
Sunday night.

Have a great weekend and I will see you again on
Monday the 14th!

Don't Do It - 2 Products to Avoid

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today I want to warn you about two products that I have bought lately that I
will absolutely NEVER, EVER buy again.

This toilet paper by Charmin...

And these razors by Schick...
I ended up with these products when I was ordering my groceries online
from Walmart Grocery. For some reason, my normal toilet paper and razors
were not showing up on the website. I then wrongly assumed that substituting
with either of these two items would be just as good as what I normally buy.

Once again, I learned the lesson of never assuming anything!

The Charmin Basic toilet paper is not soft, and is thin. It just feels like the cheap
toilet paper that you find in public bathrooms. Shame on you Charmin for putting
your name on this product. I am very disappointed that this product found its way
into our home.   I will be sure to not make that mistake again!

As for the razors, they do smell amazing with their Raspberry Rain scent, and
props to Schick for the pretty pink color, but that is where the compliments from
me end. In my opinion, they are just terrible razors. When I try to use them to shave
my legs, I have to go over and over the same spot repeatedly and having to do that
takes so much more time. For whatever reason, they just do not shave well. The razor
burns as it glides over my legs, even on the second use. When I am able to replace these
with my favorite brand, these Schick razors will find themselves in the garbage can!

Just in case you are curious, here are the brands that I normally use and love...

and my favorite razors are...

I would never have thought that such a seemingly slight substitution would
make such a difference but it absolutely does. Enough so that I have taken
to my blog to talk about toilet paper of all things, ha ha!

Thanks for reading today and please keep those comments coming!
I love hearing from you. :)

What products are you picky about?

Have you ever substituted a product and been extremely disappointed?

What are you favorite, non-negotiable brands?

Have a wonderful day!

Tasty Tuesday: Another Delicious Recipe!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Thank you to all of you who took time to comment on yesterday's blog post.
It makes me happy to know that many of you amazing and faithful readers
are still taking time out of your busy day to check in with me and my little
family. It was also nice to meet a new reader! I appreciate all of you so much!

And with that being said, let's jump right into a super yummy recipe for White
Barbeque Sauce. In my opinion, this sauce takes chicken from ordinary straight
to extraordinary!

I haven't tried this yet, but I am thinking that this sauce may be good on french fries
as well. I'm warning you. You might find yourself half tempted to drink it with a
straw, ha ha!

The recipe is quick and easy to make, and you probably already have all the things
you need to make it. Take a look...

and the recipe...

I mixed up some of this delicious sauce yesterday, and voila, lunch was spectacular!

Let me know if you try it! I think you will love it too.

Are you a fan of barbeque sauce?

What's your favorite?

Do you make your own or buy it from the store?
