What I Wore ~ Thanksgiving Day

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm joining a fun link up today called What I Wore Wednesday for the very first time
today. Usually you will find me in gym clothes, tees, leggings, or yoga pants, but in honor
of Thanksgiving Day, I decided to wear real clothes! (yes, jeggings count as real clothes in
my book!) I am a huge advocate of comfort first, so this outfit was absolutely perfect for me

With a long day of traveling, lots of yummy food to eat, and some Black Friday shopping
(at 6:00 Thursday night) to do, an outfit that was cute AND comfortable was exactly what
I needed. My top and jeggings are from Belk and my moccasin booties are from Target.

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving has already come and gone and Christmas is less than
a moth away. Wow, where did 2016 go??

Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to check out some of the other link ups
for tons of outfit inspiration.

Would I Buy It Again?

Whew! Yesterday's post was a long one, so I will do my best to keep this one
under control, haha! In my defense, it did cover the span of an entire week, so
maybe it will be okay, this one time. ;)

In today's post, I want to share some goodies I picked up from a recent trip to

Our Trader Joe's is not conveniently located to our house, so typically when I go there
it is just to browse around and pick up a few items that aren't found in my local
grocery store.

Here are the goodies I brought home with me...

Just FYI, Miss S was super excited about the gluten free bagels...that is until she tried
them. According to Miss S, the bagels are a big N-O.

The Cranberry Pumpkin Seed Pita Crisps were really good. I kept thinking they would be
extra delicious with some type of cream cheese based dip. I never came up with a dip to
try them with, but simply enjoyed them plain, right out of the bag. Even without a dip, I
would still buy them again.

The Trader Joe's coffee was a repurchase. It is a whole bean, medium roast and tastes
great with a flavored creamer. My favorite creamers are by Coffeemate.

Miss S wanted to try the Candy Cane Green Tea, which I like, but my favorite Trader
Joe's tea is the Harvest Blend. Both are caffeine free, which is perfect for us, but the
Harvest Blend is my favorite. It's like all the things I love about fall all in one cup!
I would definitely buy all three of these items again.

Miss S had heard great recommendations via YouTubers for the Queso Cheese Dip, and
the two salsas were impulse buys. We were not in love with the green salsa, or the Queso,
but the Corn and Chile Salsa was a hit with our whole family. We enjoyed it in salads and
on wraps.I would absolutely buy the Corn and Chile Salsa again.

And now on to the sweet stuff!

The dark chocolate almonds are good. I could live without them, but they are still good.
Now the Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter is a whole other story. Oh - my - GOODNESS!
This is the first time I have ever tried a cookie butter of any flavor, but this one is out
of this world delicious. I have been adding a tablespoon to plain oatmeal in the mornings
and it is fantastic. I may or may not have also had a few spoonfuls straight out of the jar
too, haha. I really need to head back to Trader Joe's and buy one more of these before
the "Pumpkin Season" has officially ended.

Someone else is interested in my goodies too.

Just look at my boy going straight for those chocolate covered almonds.
Like mother, like son, I suppose, haha!

What are your favorite goodies from Trader Joe's?

What should I try next?

In other news....

I will have a post ready for you tomorrow! Since I actually dressed in something
other than gym clothes, I will be showing off my outfit from Thanksgiving Day.
If you get a chance tomorrow, pop in and say hello!

Happy Tuesday!

Our Thanksgiving Break

Happy Monday everyone!

via

- Sunday 11/20 -

You may remember this post from last Monday, where I showed this crazy car pic of
us packed and headed to the beach to kick off our Thanksgiving Break.

We may have looked like the Clampetts since we were packed to the brim, but we had a
safe trip and received this view as our reward.

- Monday 11/21 -

While we were in Orange Beach, Alabama, we discovered the most adorable little coffee shop.

I talked all about The Southern Grind coffee shop in this post.

And who could forget the coffee shop selfie I took? haha!

The Southern Grind is conveniently located at a fun shopping and site seeing area called
The Wharf.  After we enjoyed our coffee, we were ready to do some shopping.

But first, some pics...

We loved that Orange Beach was already decorated for Christmas. It's so fun to see the
beauty of the beach and palm trees with the beauty of Christmas decorations. It was
perfect!

After a few pictures, it was time to get to shopping!

Last year, Miss S and her friend rode this huge ferris wheel, but this year they were just
too busy shopping to do it again. Isn't it a grand and beautiful sight? I love how it is
framed by palm trees.

One cute store at The Wharf was called The Orange Grove. This store is southern with a
coastal flair. What could be more perfect than that? Just look at this cute sign that was
outside the door of the store's entrance.

After we shopped our fill at The Wharf, we headed to another favorite place.

Target!

Target is awesome no matter where it is located, but let me tell you...

If you are ever close to the Target in Gulf Shores, Alabama, stop immediately and go inside.
(You will thank me later!) It was the cleanest and most organized Target that I have ever been
to, and the "Dollar Spot" area was fully stocked. It was by far the best Dollar Spot section I
have ever seen. That section in our local stores is always picked to death, but this one was
fresh, neat, and filled to the brim with goodies. We were all pinching ourselves, haha!

- Tuesday 11/22 -

Also on our trip, I made a quick stop at the Harry & David outlet store in Foley. It is hard to
find fun flavors of decaf coffee, but Harry & David never disappoint.

I have been drinking their Christmas Blend Butterscotch & Caramel ever since our trip,
and I love it. The Northwest Blend has been a favorite of mine for several years,
so I picked up another bag of it as well.

On Wednesday, it was time to say goodbye to our view and head home sweet home
to see the fur babies.

On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, we headed to my parent's house for Thanksgiving lunch.

This was what was playing on their T.V when we arrived. Hallmark Channel sure knows
how to make any holiday feel even more special. This was on the Hallmark Movie
and Mystery channel Thanksgiving morning. They do something similar on
Christmas Day as well. Be sure to check it out Christmas Day.

Of course no holiday is complete without a few family pictures!

me, Hubby, and Miss S

my parents with Miss S

Friday morning started with Gluten Free chocolate chip pancakes for Miss S. She was a
happy camper and all was right with the world...

until...

When we put up our tree, only the bottom lights worked. We have terrible luck
with Christmas trees and typically have to replace ours every three years. No one in
our house has the patience to string lights on a tree, so pre-lit is the best option for
us. (when they work!)

Miss S and I hopped in the car, and headed to Hobby Lobby for a new tree. We found
this flocked beauty and brought it home.  Hunter was thrilled with the new
tree, and kept trying to lick the "snow" off the branches.

Since this will be his very first Christmas, he wanted to pose by the new tree.
(I'm sure he thinks we bought it especially for him.)

Our star tree topper matches our new tree perfectly.

As soon as all of our Christmas decor is complete, I will do a Christmas home tour
for you. My goal is to have that ready to share by Friday.

Saturday involved more decorating, the watching of two Hallmark Christmas movies,
and some football.

Sunday was way less relaxing!

After church, and lunch, it was time to trim the bushes in front of our house.

I know my dad is breathing a sigh of relief right now, because these bushes were in desperate
need of trimming! His lawn is always immaculate, so I know the thought of our awful,
overgrown shrubs was bothering him.  ;)

What a Thanksgiving Break we had! Lots of traveling, shopping, food, and Christmas
cheer, plus a bit of manual labor thrown in to keep us grounded, haha.

WHEW! That turned in to a long post, so if you made it all the way here I sure
appreciate YOU! I hope you have a wonderful day, and hope to see you back
here tomorrow!

I'm linking up here and here today, so pop over and join the fun! :)

Do I Have to Move? This May Sound Crazy!

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Is anyone else completely exhausted from this holiday week?

Between the traveling, the shopping, the traveling, and the shopping, I just want to
lie down on the couch and cover myself with a cozy blanket and not move a muscle!

Don't get me wrong, our Thanksgiving week has been absolutely wonderful, but
all the fun has left this mama tired.

I kind of just want to lay on the couch, snuggled up with a blanket and my doxie and
watch this over and over again for the next two days...

The only problem with this revival is that once these four episodes have been watched,
then I will have to mourn the loss of Gilmore Girls all over again! I've been counting
down the days until I could watch, and now that the day is here, I don't want to watch
because once I watch, they will be gone again.

It might just be too much for me in my tired post-traveled, post-Black Friday state
of tiredness. Especially on the day that I found out that Florence Henderson passed
away. It's just the end of too many good things. Sigh, St. John's Wort anyone?

So, the actual plan for today is to deck the halls with Christmas. I have already taken
down most of my fall decor, so I will need to finish that and then move on to Christmas.
Who can be sad when Christmas decorations are being put up? Surely it isn't possible!

I will sign off for now, and see you back here on Monday to recap the rest of our
Thanksgiving Break week. I hope you are enjoying yours and getting to spend
time with loved ones doing all the things you enjoy doing.

Are you decorated for Christmas yet?

Will you be watching the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cutest Little Coffee Shop Ever!

Yesterday afternoon, Miss S and I visited what I would officially refer to as the cutest
little coffee shop ever!

We discovered The Southern Grind coffee house and fell in love with it.

This cute area is for coffee customers who want to have coffee with their fur babies.
The bar area on The Pooch Porch has doggie treats ready for doggie customers.

In addition to The Pooch Porch their are also other tables outside.

Once you walk inside the coffee shop, this is your view.

...and where you place your order.

Just look at all the fresh baked cookies, muffins, and treats ready and waiting to tempt you.

I loved the cute shirts, but they were out of my size in the one I wanted.

Another cute little area to sit and sip your coffee.

Miss S ordered a Vanilla Latte, and her future AU roomie ordered a Caramel Macchiato.

I ordered... and I know you will never, ever guess...

a Pumpkin Macchiato. It was delish!

And if you don't take a selfie in the bathroom were you even really there?

We enjoyed our visit to Southern Grind so much. We probably stayed there for almost
an hour sipping, and laughing and having a ball. What a fun way to spend a Monday
afternoon!

If you are ever in Orange Beach, Alabama, you will definitely want to stop in
and relax for a while. They also have smoothies, gelato, breakfast items, soups,
sandwiches and more.

(I did not receive free coffee for writing this blog post, but I sure would be willing
to cut a deal in the future, haha!)
