Tuesday Talk

First of all, let's take a minute to get caught up with our Joy Bible Reading Challenge
for August. (Feel free to skip past if you have already read the passages for Day 1
and Day 2, or if you aren't doing the challenge with me.)

Day 1 - Psalm 47:1-9

Praise to God, the Ruler of the Earth

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!

Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

2 For the Lord Most High is awesome;

He is a great King over all the earth.

3 He will subdue the peoples under us,

And the nations under our feet.

4 He will choose our inheritance for us,

The excellence of Jacob whom He loves.

5 God has gone up with a shout,

The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises!

Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

7 For God is the King of all the earth;

Sing praises with understanding.

8 God reigns over the nations;

God sits on His holy throne.

9 The princes of the people have gathered together,

The people of the God of Abraham.

For the shields of the earth belong to God;

He is greatly exalted.

Day 2 -  1 Peter 1: 3-9

A Heavenly Inheritance

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who according to His abundant mercy

has begotten us again to a living hope

through the resurrection of  Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled

and that does not fade away,

reserved in heaven for you,

5 who are kept by the power of God through faith

for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while,

if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious

than gold that perishes,

though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor,

and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him,

yet believing,

you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

After reading the verses from the first two days, I can already see why these verses
are meant to bring joy and comfort into our lives.

(The verses were taken from the New King James Version of the Bible. You can go
to this website to read the verses in hundreds of different translations. If a certain
verse doesn't really click for you, I find it helpful to read the verses in different
translations until I find one that really clears it up for me.)

And now let's talk about the surprise I promised you yesterday!

I told you that while Miss S was at the beach last week, she met one of her favorite
people. She loves watching YouTube videos and last week she met one of her most
favorite youtubers!

Her friend took the pic for her, and it is a little blurry, but you can still see the look
of thrill and excitement on Miss S's face.

Miss S met Alexandrea Garza! (You can see Alex's YouTube channel here.)

Alex is in the black dress, and her friend Mallory Ervin, who is also a youtuber, is in the
white dress. Miss S never misses one of Alex's videos, so she was super excited to
actually meet her, and her friend Mallory, in person. I think Alex was just as excited
to be recognized, as Miss S was to meet her! Miss S said she was so sweet and down
to earth to talk to. If you haven't watched her videos, pop over to her channel and see
what she is all about. She can tell you anything you want to know about hair, makeup,
and fashion. (See why Miss S loves her so much?!)

It's amazing how many people travel from all over the U.S to vacation in the
Seaside/Grayton/Santa Rosa area.

I guess it's time to get this day started. I will see you on Thursday!
