Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It's that time again. Time to talk about...

Here are a few of my favorite things from the week.

This week, I received happy mail from Bath & Body Works. They have an awesome
deal going right now where you can get this adorable bag (tote) for only $30.

I love my pink tote and all of the goodies that came inside it!

I love all things Bath & Body, and I love a good deal, and an offer that combined
both could not be resisted! When you spend $30, you get to choose either a pink or
a blue tote for only $30. I had been wanting a pink bag for Spring and Summer, so
this deal was absolutely perfect.

I ordered two candles (on sale for $12.50):

and a foaming hand soap:

available here

and then picked the pink tote. I couldn't have been any happier than
the day the UPS truck dropped this box of goodies at my door.

You can choose your pink or blue tote from Bath & Body Works here.

We are loving these cheeseburgers,

and these chicken sandwiches for quick and easy lunches.

Why stop somewhere and pick up fast food when you can enjoy these in your own
home in less than a minute. They are individually wrapped in halves, so we usually
eat 1/2 of a burger, or chicken sandwich and add whatever side we are in the mood
for to go with it. They taste great and we are saving time, calories and money by eating
at home!

I shared this adorable pillow from Target with you last week, but THIS week, it is on

If you need any cute pillows for Spring/Summer, now is the perfect time to shop.

I found this quick workout idea on Pinterest last night. I plan to keep it close by
for days when I say, "I don't have time to workout!"

How could I ever say that I don't have 7 minutes?!

Have a great Friday and a great weekend!

I'll see you on Monday!

Three Things Thursday

Let's call this the Three Things Thursday, "Let Me Vent" edition.

I have been trying to take a new approach with life lately...

It was going well, but man it can be a struggle some days.  I try to be positive and
encouraging on here each day, but today I just need to vent a little. Today I am going
to let you in on three things that I am "over" today.

- one -

Personal training clients setting appointments with me, and then cancelling. And then
setting another appointment and then cancelling it too. This has been the theme of my
life for the past couple of weeks. I feel like I never know if I am coming or going

I am supposed to meet with one client tonight, and another one tomorrow morning,
but who really knows. I'm really feeling "over it" and feeling taken advantage of at the
moment. I suppose this is the dark side of the personal training business.

- two -

I am really feeling "over" the whole teen scene today too. All they want to do is go,
and then go, and then go some more. They go straight from school, to a study group,
and then to get something to eat. Or they go to lunch and then shopping, and then to
a movie, and then to Starbucks.

Hello? Do they realize that they have a family at home that would really like to see

I suppose this is good training to help me prepare for how much I will miss Miss S
when she goes to college in another year, but that doesn't make it stink any less!

They are on their phones at least 18 hours a day, non-stop, (I'm not kidding! Non-stop is
not an exaggeration) but how many of those texts come to their parents? Let me tell you,
it isn't nearly as many as I would like it to be. Is it so bad that I actually like my child, and
enjoy talking to her?!

- three -

Clutter. OMG clutter. I am so completely over the clutter. The closets are too full. The
cabinets are too full. The garage is too full. I filled a bag of random things to toss
out over the weekend, but it honestly feels like the stuff I tossed out not only came
right back, but it also went out and found friends to bring back too.

So basically I am feeling annoyed, abandoned, taken advantage of and overwhelmed at
the moment. Those are definitely NOT the feelings I want, or need to envision and
bring into my life.

Hopefully I will have a productive weekend and come up with some solutions to
getting things back on track. And I'm pretty sure some stricter guidelines need to be
put in place for clients that don't see my time as valuable. That is about to change...
just sayin'! ;)

And I'm also thinking that a few more boundaries may be in order for slowing the
teen scene down just a bit. I love that Miss S has lots of friends, and a great social
life, but there needs to be balance. Yes, we will be implementing a more balanced
schedule in the very near future.

And clutter....

Don't get too comfortable because bit by bit, and closet by closet, I am coming for

My life, my happiness, my rules. It's on! Positive changes ahead.

Thanks for reading my vent/therapy session today. I will see you tomorrow with
some Friday Favorites!

On My Mind Today...

I wanted to share a message that has been on my mind lately. I don't want to
take away from the intended message by writing too much here, so I will get
straight to the point.

I just feel that someone visiting my blog may need to read these words today...

Release the judgement, release the preconceived ideas about what success and beauty
look like. Release the fear, and release the pain...

The message of this blog post means a lot to me and I hope it touched someone reading
today in a special way. If you know anyone that could benefit from these words, please
share with them too. In a world of negativity and judgement, we deserve to show
ourselves, and those we care about, encouragement, kindness and love.

Thanks for letting me share what was on my heart today!

I'll see you tomorrow!

pepper to taste. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Turn temperature to low and cook

Our Weekend in a Snap

A snapshot round up of our weekend...

When Hubby grills a steak, he doesn't play around. Only the biggest and best steak
will do.

We are making our way through Season 7 of Gilmore Girls. Lorelai is married to
Christopher at the moment, but she and Luke are slowly reconnecting.

The Spread the Love Tour was at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn on Saturday.

Old Dominion, Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, and Kenny Chesney rocked Jordan-Hare
for almost 6 hours!

Kenny promotes a #noshoesnation. :)

These cuties had a blast!

What a fun weekend!

This week marks a new week and a new focus for me....

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!

It's a rainy, yucky day here today, but I won't let that get me down. It's time to have
some fun and share some Friday Favorites.

- one -

I found these adorable kitchen towels in Walmart this week and could not resist bringing
them home. They are cute, colorful, and happy, and I knew it would be silly to leave them
in the store. I didn't necessarily NEED either one of them, but for $2.00 a piece, a thought
it would be crazy not to grab them both.

I mean, if a kitchen towel has the power to make you smile, then bringing them home is a
no brainer, don't ya think?!

Look how happy my stove and oven area look now. And for only $2.00. Score!

And what a great little reminder too!

- two -

These tortilla chips are not only good, but the bag is just so pretty. I love sunflowers,
and couldn't resist trying these.

Our family goes through tortilla chips pretty quickly, so a healthier version of a
favorite snack food seemed like a smart decision. They are good alone, with dip,
or with salsa. Yum!

- three -

I was on the lookout for new running shoes to wear to work at the gym. Standing
around on the gym floor for several hours a day can be rough on my feet, so max cushioning
shoes are a must. And the fact that they have pink on them just makes them extra special!

Altra Running Shoes  have a foot shape toe box which allows your toes to relax, and
spread naturally and remain in a straight position inside the shoe. They also have what they
call "Zero Drop."  This means that your heel and forefoot are positioned at the same
height off the ground which promotes better posture, and strengthens your Achilles,
and lower calf muscles. The cushioning under the forefoot and the arch support are

I love my Hoka One One shoes as well, but my new Altra's are definitely a tie for
first place for my feet.  I used to be a devout Asics and Saucony wearer, but after
trying these, I see more Hoka's and Altra's in my future!

- four -

These cute pillows from Target have me wanting to redecorate my house!
I absolutely LOVE this pattern and these colors on this outdoor pillow.

If only they had this pattern for indoors, I would probably be trying to figure out
how to make it work in my family room. I love it.

This cute tassel pillow would be so, so cute in Miss S's hang out/media room. I love
the bright, fun colored tassels.

This adorable pineapple pillow would totally match the colors in my family room
right now, and I have always liked pineapples. (the symbol for Southern hospitality.)
You never know. I just may talk myself into a couple of these. They would be super
cute sitting on my couch for the summer!

I hope you have a great Friday and a great weekend friends!

Do you have a favorite brand of shoe for the gym?

Do you switch out throw pillows with the seasons?

I'll see you Monday!

Three Things Thursday

Oh my goodness! Is it ONLY Thursday???

This week I actually said on Tuesday evening, "Please tell me tomorrow is Friday!"
Hubby just looked at me and said, "Uh huh."

Oh well, since it is in fact Thursday, let's go ahead and get going with...

- one -

Last week, I went in for my annual mammogram appointment, and yesterday
I received some good news in the mail.

"No evidence of breast cancer" is always a good thing to hear! Always thankful for
good news like that.

- two -

As my reward for doing something not so fun (like a mammogram) I popped
into Target for a little browsing and exploring. One of the reasons that I love Target
is that I always find something that I haven't seen in other stores. This is what I saw...

Boxed water?

Why would I want boxed water? How funny would it be to see someone walking
around the gym drinking boxed water?! I can only imagine! Ahh Target... Thank you
for always having fun and happy items in your store. You never disappoint.

- three -

Speaking of fun and happy places, Hubby got to do something that he has wanted
to do for quite a while.

Thanks to my Life 360 App on my phone, I was able to screenshot the location of his
happy place. He was playing golf at the prestigious Greystone Golf and Country Club
This course is a members only course and he was invited to play with a work colleague.
He had a fabulous time and was a truly happy golfer! This was a check off of his golf
bucket list for sure.

Have you ever tried boxed water?

Do you remember to get your annual mammogram?

Where is YOUR happy place?

I'll see you tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

Oh My Yard!

I mentioned in Monday's post that Hubby had started working on an area for our
garden this year.

Well, as of about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, it still looked like this.

Hubby said he was going to get topsoil to add to the space since the soil in our yard isn't
so great, but it is taking things to a whole other level when a dump truck backs into your

Once the soil was dumped out in our driveway, Hubby went to work moving it where he
wanted it.

The prepared space looks great now, and we actually kind of look like we know what we
are doing. Fingers crossed we get some plants purchased to go in this new space, and that
we actually have some good crop turnout this year.

Just one minor problem.... Look at those ruts in my yard!

I suppose progress doesn't come without a price, haha.

What can I say? I suppose Hubby's philosophy is "Go big, or go home!"

I'm pretty sure he was having fun hauling all that dirt around.

I'll see you tomorrow for Three Things Thursday!
