Fall Beach Trip { Nov. 22 - 25, 2015 } - Part 1

Happy LAST day of November! My how this month has flown by.

Last week, we did something that we have never done before. We used Miss S's
Thanksgiving Break as an opportunity to go to the beach. None of us had ever been
in November before, so we were pretty excited. Today, I will recap Sunday, and
Monday of our trip.

We left our house around 9:45 on Sunday morning heading South.

About 11:15, we stopped for a bathroom break, to fuel up, and to get some
snacks. We decided that we wanted to make it to Orange Beach for lunch.

We pulled in to Orange Beach around 1:45, and stopped at Cosmo's for lunch.

Miss S and her friend shared the Fish Tacos, and I had Sushi. I ordered the Rainbow
Roll, which had Yellowtail, tuna, smoked salmon, red pepper, asparagus, cucumber,
and carrot in it. It was delicious!

We checked into our condo at 3:00 and headed straight for our balcony to
check out our view from the ninth floor.

Not bad at all! I'm pretty sure I could live with this view everyday.

The weather was pretty windy and cool, but after unpacking, we couldn't resist
going for a quick walk on the beach.

The beach was very different than I had ever seen it. Normally the sand on the beaches
in white and fluffy, but the sand this time was packed tightly, full of shells and shell
fragments. We walked on the beach in our shoes with no problem at all.

The beaches were beautiful in their natural, untouched state.

And the sunset was breathtaking. (These photos were taken about 4:30 - 4:35.)

(This photo was taken around 5:00.)

When dinner time rolled around, we were originally going to Sea-n-Suds, but when we
got there, we discovered they were closed on Sunday night.

We headed to The Steamer instead.

It was so good. I ordered a cup of gumbo and Miss S and I shared the Crab Cake
platter, It was plenty of food, and out of this world delicious.

After dinner, it was time to visit Walmart for a few grocery items to have in the condo.

I even watched a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie before bed. Talk about a
perfect day!

I happened to wake up around 6:00 on Monday morning and decided I wanted
to step out on the balcony to see the sunrise.

What a beautiful view to start the day.

We lazed around the condo until almost lunch time Monday morning...

And once it warmed up a bit, we headed out for lunch at Tacky Jacks.

We chose a table outside and this was our view for lunch.

The food was pretty good, but the view was amazing!

After lunch we walked around the marina and snapped a few pictures.

Miss S and her BFF

After lunch, we had our first Blue Angels sighting!

We spent most of the afternoon at The Wharf shopping, and browsing. Miss S even
talked her BFF into riding the Ferris wheel for the first time.

Dinner Monday night was at The Original Oyster House.

Surprisingly, it was pretty crowded, and we even had a 20 minute wait for a
table. We definitely weren't expecting a wait on a Monday night, in November,
but our meal was well worth it. Oh so good!

I'll be back tomorrow to recap the remainder of our trip, and even take you through
to Thanksgiving day.

Have a great Monday!

Most of you know that my Christmas tree is already up and decorated this year.
But for anyone who is waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate your tree, this
post is perfect for you.

Here is some beautiful tree inspiration from around the web.

And finally, here are two beautiful trees from one of my favorite bloggers,

I have had the honor of meeting her twice, and she is such a sweet, down to
earth person. Spend a few minutes visiting her blog and you will surely find
endless inspiration. Her style is just gorgeous as you can tell by looking at her
Christmas trees from years past.

I hope seeing these beautiful trees has given you the inspiration you need to

Weekend Recap + Christmas Workout Fun

Friday night was a Chinese take out kind of night!

It was sushi for me, along with hot and sour soup, beef and broccoli with rice
for Hubby, and Sweet and Sour Chicken for Miss S.

After enjoying our take out, it was time to catch up on some of our shows on the
DVR. We watched Blind Spot and NCIS.

In other news, our Christmas decorating is complete. I will be sharing everything
with you in a link up on December 8.

Saturday was a day of torture clean the house day. We cleaned, and arranged, and
cleaned some more in preparation for company coming for Thanksgiving. It will be
the first time having Thanksgiving at our house. Ironically enough, I am fully
decorated for Christmas, and hosting Thanksgiving at my house. Oh well, my house,
my decorations of choice!  ;)

December is just around the corner which makes today the perfect time to share a
fun Christmas themed workout.

You can view the workout here if it is too small to view from my page, or
you can find a printable pdf version here.

When the Christmas season gets crazy and busy, turn your workouts into
a fun little escape from the "to do's." Be sure to make time to keep yourself
on that list of things that you need to do.

This workout is a great way to keep yourself sane and fit!

Have a great Monday!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends!

It's time to share some of my favorite things from the week.

- one -

Lattes with my sweet girl are always a favorite of mine.

Chestnut Praline for me, and Peppermint Mocha for Miss S.

- two -

I am loving this Flower Nail Polish by Drew Barrymore this week.

It's a nice fall color, without being too super dark.

I'm also loving my little doxie in his new Christmas sweater from the Target
Dollar Spot. It's soft and warm, and hard to believe that it was only $3.00.

- three -

Target also had this dachshund Christmas decoration. It didn't come home with me,
but it sure made me squeal with delight right in the middle of the store!

Rusty is a little offended that I didn't bring the doxie decoration home for  him.

Or maybe he just wanted a friend to swap out sweaters with! ;)

- four -

I can not get enough of the Pentatonix lately.

I have been listening to their Christmas CD's on repeat this week.

Here are a few of my favorites.

You can also view here.

You can also view here.

And my absolute favorite just might be their version of Silent Night.

Also listen here.

If you haven't listened to them yet, please do yourself a favor and do
it now. They are  a b s o l u t e l y  AMAZING!

They are an American a cappela group with five super talented vocalists
originating from Arlington Texas.

I can tell you that if they ever tour near Alabama, this girl will be asking
for tickets to go see them!

I'm linking up with Erika today, so pop over and see what other's are
sharing this week.

What are your favorites from the week?

Have a great weekend!

Three, (Plus A Few) Things Thursday { Hashtags Included }

- one -

Doxie Baby is feeling much better today. He is finally acting like his
usual spunky, adorable little self. It was a rough two days seeing him
sick, weak, confused and worn out. For people that don't see their pets
as part of the family, they probably won't understand what having a sick
doggie feels like in my world, but that's okay. I love all three of our fur
babies and treat them like family.

One of the things the vet suggested was to boil a plain/bland chicken
breast for him to try to eat first, before offering his regular dog food.
He was very supportive of this idea, and has made is clear that he would
totally be okay being on the chicken breast diet for little longer, haha.

- two -

I am about 85% finished decorating for Christmas. Miss S has totally bailed
on me. She was the one begging to bring everything out last Saturday, but has
now completely lost interest in helping.

- three -

3 random thoughts in no particular order...

-  gas in $1.79 a gallon right now

- I've got so much to do today that I don't know where to start

- I really want to paint my jewelry amoire with white chalk paint

- we are on day 323 out of 365

- the SUN is SHINING today!

One last thing before I go...

I shared this video on my facebook page on Tuesday, but want to
share on my blog today.

My sweet, handsome, talented Hubby sang one of my favorite hymns in
church on Sunday. I started recording a little late, and the quality isn't perfect,
but his worship through song makes my heart so happy. I could listen to him
sing every minute of every day. A few of the things I first fell in love with was that
he makes me feel safe and taken care of, he makes me laugh, his beautiful hazel
eyes, and his voice.

It's ONE week until Thanksgiving! The holidays are coming so quickly.

See you tomorrow!
